Coach Tyler Beatty is entering his fifth year with China Spring ISD, serving as the Head Football Coach and Boys Coordinator. A graduate of Pflugerville High School, he played football at Baylor and Southeastern Louisiana University. Prior to China Spring, he coached at Mexia, Austin Anderson, and Cypress Park High Schools. He has been married to his wife, Brooke, for 14 years, and they have three children: Paisley (10), Presley (6), and Paxton (1).

Coach Kyle Elkins is a China Spring graduate and has been coaching at China Spring for 13 years. He attended Sam Houston State University and currently coaches high school football and track. His wife, Jessica, is also a coach at China Spring, and they have two children. Outside of coaching, he enjoys hunting and fishing. Coach Elkins and his family are proud to be part of the China Spring community.

Avery Fulton is entering his fifth year as an educator and coach. Fulton teaches world geography and serves as the head tennis coach for fall and spring tennis.

Fulton is married to his wife, Taylar, and they have one future China Spring Cougar, Laura Jane.

Coach Robert Garcia is entering his 20th year coaching high school basketball. He has spent 12 years as a head coach, earning three district titles at three different schools, two regional tournament appearances, and three Coach of the Year awards. He is supported by his wife, Meagan, and their three children: Aiden (9th grade), Jaxon (6th grade), and Laney (5th grade). He is excited to be a Cougar and looks forward to the upcoming season.

Contact Cody Harvey

Coach Cody Harvey is entering his 11th year with China Spring ISD. He serves as the district's Speed & Strength Coordinator, Head Powerlifting Coach, and Linebackers Coach. A graduate of Magnolia High School, he played football and basketball at Mary Hardin-Baylor before serving as a graduate assistant football coach at UMHB and a Sports Performance Intern at Stanford University. He has been married to his wife, Meghan, for 10 years, and they have two children, Cade (8) and Landri (4). Coach Harvey enjoys spending time on the lake and watching his children compete in various activities.

Coach Mike McCollum is entering his 22nd year of teaching and coaching, with this being his third year at China Spring ISD. He has previously coached at Austin Regents, Austin Westlake, La Grange, Cypress Creek, and Rosenberg Terry. He is a varsity assistant football coach, working with the cornerbacks, and serves as the head boys' and girls' golf coach. His wife, Christy, is a middle school science teacher in China Spring ISD. They have four children: Cooper (22), Cash (18), Reagan (16), and Rylee (13).

Contact Ron Burnham

Coach Ron Burnham is a 1992 graduate of Temple High School and a 1996 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. He returns to China Spring ISD, where he has spent 14 of his 27 years in education. Most recently, he was the Athletic Director for Community ISD and previously served as the AD and Head Football Coach at Ore City. He has been married to his wife, Nikki, for 28 years. She is a teacher at Waco High School. They have three daughters: Kylie (24), a teacher pursuing graduate studies at UT-Austin; Katie (22), a recent graduate of UT-Arlington; and Landry (20), a China Spring graduate and senior at Texas Tech University.

Contact Preston Ehler

Coach Preston Ehler joins the China Spring High School staff after coaching at Giddings for two years and Cameron Yoe for three years. He will serve as the defensive line coach and special teams coordinator, as well as coach track. Coach Ehler is married to Jayce, and they have two children, Hattie (3) and Riley (4 months).

Contact John Exline

Coach John Exline has been an educator for 24 years, with the past nine in China Spring ISD. Prior to China Spring, he taught in Dublin, Terrell, Kaufman, Breckenridge, and Waco Midway. He coaches football in the fall and track in the spring while teaching Government and Economics. He has three sons: Dawson (21), attending Texas Tech University; Tristan (20), attending UTPB; and Caden (18), who will attend Tarleton State University in the fall.

Coach Marc Gutierrez is a graduate of Clifton High School and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. In high school, he was a multi-sport athlete who earned All-State recognition and two District MVP honors. At UMHB, he won three Conference Championships and a National Championship. He coaches high school outside receivers and middle school basketball. This is his first year coaching. Coach Gutierrez and his girlfriend, Corinne, are excited to be part of the China Spring community.

Coach Josh Lessman is in his second year of coaching and his first at China Spring. He previously coached in Whitney and will be working with the boys' coaching staff, coaching junior high football and assisting with high school basketball. He is married to Amber and has three sons, Zayne (19), Jacob (16), and Lawson (4).

Coach Stacey Largent is entering his 30th year of coaching and teaching. He has coached football and baseball throughout his career and is honored to continue in those roles at China Spring High School. He most recently coached at Independence High School in Frisco, Texas, with previous stops at Creekview, McKinney Boyd, and Lake Dallas High Schools. He is married to Suzanne, who works at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, and they have two children, Taylor (24) and Gunner (19).

Contact Wade Morton

Coach Wade Morton has 20 years of coaching experience. He coaches football and powerlifting and previously served as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in Meridian, Texas. He has also coached at Waco Connally, Clifton, Riesel, and Normangee. He has been married to his wife, Lindsey, for 23 years, and they have three children, Hannah (22), Noah (16), and Ellie (12), as well as a granddaughter, Roann (1 month).

Coach Zach Quick is a graduate of Union Grove High School and East Texas Baptist University. This will be his ninth season coaching, and he will be coaching football and basketball at the high school. He spent the past eight years coaching in East Texas, including seven years at Ore City ISD and one year at Waskom ISD. He has been married to his wife, Marybeth, for ten years, and they have three children: Lilly (5), a kindergartener at the primary school, and two sons, James (3) and Benjamin (1).

Coach Michael Villarreal is in his second year at China Spring ISD and his 12th year overall. He works with the junior high football and basketball programs and also serves as an assistant coach for the baseball program. Before joining China Spring, he was the Head Baseball Coach in Whitney. He is eager to get the 2024-25 athletic season underway.

Coach Taylor Wolfe has been coaching for 14 years, with previous stops at Crowley, Cedar Hill, Cedar Ridge, and Magnolia West. Originally from Richardson, Texas, he attended J.J. Pearce High School before continuing his football career at Southwestern College. He will be coaching football and track. Coach Wolfe and his wife, Sarah, have three children, Riley (9), J.D. (8), and Emma (6), and they are excited to be part of the China Spring community.
