TEA Spending Plan Requirement

90% of Allotment Amount: Must go to teacher pay on the campus at which the designated teacher works.

10% of Allotment Amount: May be used to implement a local designation system to support teachers in earning a designation.

90% of Allotment Amount: Paid directly to designated teacher.

10% of Allotment Amount: TIA funds are TRS eligible. The district will use 10% of the allotment amount to cover TRS benefits and fees for the designated teachers. Remaining funds will provide support to help teachers earn a designation and apply for National Board Certification.

Allotment Funding Distribution. TEA states at least 90% must go to teacher pay on the campus the designated teacher works. Up to 10% may be used to implement a local designation system or to support teachers in earning a designation.

China Spring ISD TIA Allotment Amounts

Teacher Incentive Allotment amounts are determined by the Texas Education Agency. Allotment amounts are specific to each campus based on the socio-economic level and rural or non-rural status of the campus. More information can be found on TEA's Teacher Incentive Allotment Funding website.

China Spring ISD TIA Allotment Payment Timeline

  • 75% of the designated teacher's allotment will be paid in May

  • 25% of the designated teacher's allotment will be paid in August as a retention check*

*The designated teacher must be employed at China Spring ISD at time of payment.

It is the goal of China Spring ISD to retain quality teachers. Teachers will earn the allotment retention check in August by returning for the following school year. If an eligible teacher resigns from the district, the retention check will not be forwarded.
