The Education Foundation is on a Mission: Supporting Faculty and Students Across the District

The China Spring ISD Education Foundation is a non-profit, dedicated to collecting and distributing financial resources specifically for faculty and students throughout the school district. Designed to supplement school programs and enhance existing opportunities, the Education Foundation offers student scholarships and teachers grants. The Foundation awarded 25 student scholarships and nearly $36,000 in classroom grants during the 2022-2023 academic year.

Amanda Talbert currently serves as interim chair of the Education Foundation Board. Talbert is a China Spring alumna who has three kids currently enrolled at China Spring ISD. Looking for a way to give back to the district and China Spring community, Talbert decided to join the Board in the 2017-2018 academic year. “I wanted to give back to the school and community that gave me so much,” notes Talbert. As a member of the Education Foundation Board, Talbert is responsible for organizing fundraising opportunities, connecting with community partners and identifying scholarship and grant recipients.

The Foundation’s annual fundraising event, Cougar Christmas, offers a night of fun, food and games. All proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction support the faculty and students at China Spring ISD. “This is our signature event where faculty and staff from China Spring ISD and community members come together to participate in an evening of giving,” says Talbert, “If people are looking for a way to give back to the faculty and students at China Spring, this is one of the best ways to do it.” This event is open to the public. Tickets are available for purchase for $75.00. Coming with a group of friends, reserve a table for 10 guests for $750.00. Email cougarchristmas@yahoo.com for more information
