China Spring ISD Teacher Receives National Board Certification

On December 9, 2023, the National Board released the list of new National Board Certified Teachers. The district is excited to announce one teacher at China Spring ISD has completed the process and received their National Board Certification.

5th grade math teacher, Amy Gregory, is a National Board Certified Teacher.

At China Spring ISD the educational experience of our students is at the center of everything we do. Investing in the growth of our teachers, not only helps them develop as professionals, but also results in better educational experiences for China Spring ISD students. The district is committed to offering professional development opportunities for our faculty and staff, including the opportunity to apply for National Board Certification.

National Board Certification is a program developed to recognize outstanding educators across the United States. It is an advanced professional certification for PreK-12 educators. This certification was created by educators, creating a national consensus about what accomplished teachers should be able to demonstrate.

According to the National Board Certification program, teachers pursuing this certification process must demonstrate, “advanced knowledge, skills, and practice in their individual certificate area.” Teachers complete a test and submit three portfolios as part of the process.

The certification process is thorough and as of 2021, 130,493 teachers across the United States were granted the certification. Texas has roughly 1,069 National Board Certified Teachers.

The district is fortunate to have teachers dedicated to teaching excellence and we invite the community to join us in congratulating Amy Gregory!
