China Spring Intermediate School Earns Spot on Texas Honor Roll

China Spring Intermediate School secured a spot on the 2023 Texas Honor Roll for their work in closing achievement gaps, particularly for historically underserved student populations.

Only 835 Texas schools, approximately 12 percent of those eligible for consideration, were named to the list. China Spring Intermediate is recognized for demonstrating a comprehensively higher performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) Reading Language Arts and Math Assessments, for all groups of students.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Marc Faulkner, is proud to see China Spring ISD represented on the Honor Roll. “We are proud of our teachers and the many ways they embraced innovative teaching practices to prepare our students for the STAAR test,” states Faulkner. “The intermediate school has done a phenomenal job coming alongside students and supporting all of our learners.”

Educational Results Partnerships presents an annual Honor Roll, recognizing school districts who engage best teaching practices to raise student achievement and prepare students with the skills necessary to be successful in the workforce.

Despite recent changes to the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing, China Spring ISD continues to outperform others across the state. This year's test included the new testing components and accountability system, which have impacted scores statewide, including those in our district.
