Champions for China Spring ISD Advocating for our Schools

The following announcement from Superintendent, Dr. Marc Faulkner, was released to all district parent/guardians:

All China Spring ISD Families,

I am excited to announce the launch of a new program for the upcoming academic year, Champions for China Spring ISD. This program is designed to highlight the positive work happening in our public school district and provide parents, community members, and educators with the tools to advocate for the future of our district and, most importantly, our students.

As educators, we know that knowledge is power. Through Champions for China Spring ISD we will educate parents, community members, and educators about the complex issues facing public schools and our school district. It is my hope, these champions can use the knowledge gained in this program to help share accurate information about the positive work happening in our public school district and about upcoming initiatives at China Spring ISD.

This summer, I personally invited a group of educators and community members to serve in the first educator cohort and community cohort of Champions for China Spring ISD. The educator cohort is comprised of 35 educators and school board members. The community cohort is comprised of 35 parents, community members, and school board members. Each group will meet throughout the year with district administration to gain a deeper understanding of topics such as school finance, teacher pay, school programming, and the future growth of China Spring ISD.

I expect this to become a regular program at our district and I look forward to welcoming more cohorts in the future. If you are interested in potentially joining future cohorts of Champions for China Spring ISD, visit the Champions for China Spring ISD website for more information.

I look forward to working with our champions in advocating for the future of our school district.

Marc Faulkner, Ed.D.
