China Spring ISD

The Department of Social Services annually hosts, Parent Forum, a free event for all parents, guardians and community members. Based on ideas from parents and community members, Parent Forums highlight specific topics each year. This year, the Parent Form is organized like a conference, offering guests the opportunity to attend different sessions, led by professional speakers. Topics include:

·       Firearm safety

·       Family abuse prevention

·       Mental health and wellness

·       Financial literacy

China Spring ISD invites all parents and community members to join us for Parent Forum on September 30, from 6:00-8:00 pm, at the China Spring Elementary Campus. Registration is not required.

Presenters Include:

• DeLisa Burnell-Smith and Virgen Rivera Latimer, NeighborWorks Waco, learn practical strategies on budgeting, credit repair, and building a strong financial foundation.

• Zachary Martinez, Department of Public Safety, demonstrate the importance of firearm safety and to encourage the practice of responsible firearm ownership.

• Matthew Moran, Family Abuse Center, will present on family violence and prevention.

• Norma Benitez-Montelongo, Leader and Coordinator for NAMI Waco, will present on mental wellness and NAMI Waco Services.
