Art students at China Spring High School are proving that creativity, collaboration, and hard work can lead to remarkable opportunities.
Earlier this year, students were selected to participate in a mural competition sponsored by local roofing company, The Roof Co. The contest invited community members to vote for their favorite high school to paint the murals. More than a thousand votes were cast and China Spring High School was announced as one of six schools from across Central Texas selected for the competition.
Art teacher, Bradley Settles, shares that his class approached the competition as a real-world graphic design project. With The Roof Co. as the client, students had to create a design aligning with the client’s needs and producing deliverables within the client’s timeline.
Now that the murals are complete, the contest enters its final phase: community voting. The top three schools with the most votes will receive $1,000 to support their art programs.
Voting begins Monday, Dec. 9, and China Spring High School is calling on the community for support.
China Spring ISD invites all community members to vote and support the talented students at our district.
