The China Spring ISD Board of Trustees has approved the hiring of Dr. Nancy Dominguez as the next principal of the China Spring Alternative Education Center (AEC).

Dr. Dominguez brings more than a decade of leadership experience to the role, along with a passion for supporting students and helping them find success in every circumstance. She most recently served as assistant principal at Mart High School, where she oversaw testing coordination, student support services and behavior interventions. She previously served in a similar leadership role at Dean Highland Elementary in Waco ISD.

Fluent in Spanish and English, Dr. Dominguez is a bilingual and bicultural leader who values meaningful relationships with students, families and staff. She brings a vision for supporting student growth and creating a campus culture grounded in care, consistency and accountability.

"We are excited to welcome Dr. Dominguez to China Spring ISD," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marc Faulkner. "Her experience, compassion and leadership make her an excellent fit for AEC."

She will assume the principal role following the departure of current principal Jennifer Sharp, who is relocating out of state.

Dr. Dominguez will officially begin her role on July 1, 2025.
