HAPPENINGS
S3 STUDENTS STANDING STRONG:
Will begin meeting on August 27th after school from 4p-5p.
Students Standing Strong (S3) is a student-led bible study that meets weekly on the Intermediate School campus. Its purpose is "connecting students at school to learn, live and lead biblical truth." All 5th and 6th graders are invited to meet in the library on Tuesdays from 4-5. First club is Aug 27th.
WATCH D.O.G.S ORIENTATION:
Tuesday, September 3rd ~ 5:30PM-6:30PM ~ PRIMARY CAMPUS ~
If you are interested in being a W.A.T.C.H. DOG this year please be sure to attend the orientation meeting in order to complete the necessary paperwork and to learn pertinent information about the program.
Watch D.O.G.S. help provide positive male role models for students, demonstrated by their presence that education is important and provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security, reduce bullying, and provide a greater sense of campus safety allowing students and teachers to focus on learning and instruction.
CARING FOR CLASSROOMS FUNDRAISER:
Caring for Classrooms Kick-off will be on Thursday, September 5th. Be on the lookout for information to be coming home on that day.
KONA ICE:
Kona Ice will be on campus on Friday, September 6th. Students will have the opportunity to purchase Kona Ice during their normally scheduled recess time. Order forms will be coming home soon!
STAFF TREAT DONATIONS:
We are looking to restock our staff treat shelf! We would love donations of canned sodas that we can treat our staff to on Thursdays with popcorn and candy. Our staff loves the tradition of having the cart come to their rooms and we would love to continue it.

Reminder: Our last period class is a core class. Please try to schedule appointments on the Fridays students are out or after school to minimize missed instruction as much as possible.
Attendance is tracked every class period.
The latest students can be picked up early is 3:45PM
REMINDERS
CSI DRESS CODE:
Dress code will be enforced beginning Monday, August 5th. Students out of dress code will be sent to the office and given the opportunity to change clothes or call home to get more clothes. Please see the China Spring Intermediate Dress Code HERE.
CSI PHONE POLICY
Devices must remain turned off during the school day (from arrival - dismissal) and kept in the student’s backpack.
If a student possesses a smart watch, it should not be used for personal communication throughout the day.
Capturing images is strictly prohibited in restroom areas while at school.
If a student uses their personal device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated. The parent or guardian may pick up the confiscated telecommunications device from the principal’s office for a fee of $15.

School day duration ~ 8:00AM - 4:00PM
Car rider drop off ~ begins at 7:00AM
Breakfast ~ 7:15AM - 8:00AM
Class begins ~ 8:00AM
Tardy bell rings ~ 8:05AM
ATTENDANCE REMINDERS:
90% Law ~ The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.
Daily attendance ~ Attendance is taken every day at 9:30AM. Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.
When absent ~ Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse). For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor's note or other formal documentation is required.
All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.
TRANSPORTATION REMINDERS:
Afternoon car riders ~
Please make sure you are not blocking the parking lot exits where buses enter and leave.
Front car riders:
Please make sure that you are moving all the way up the sidewalk, your students will meet you where you stop. This helps move our line quickly.
Early dismissal ~ If you wish to pick your student up early from school you must do so before 3:45PM. A photo ID will be required to check your student out.
Transportation Change ~ If there is a change to your child’s normal mode of transportation in the afternoon, you must notify the front office by 3:15PM to ensure they get dismissed as requested.
NURSE’S NOTES:
There’s lots of illness going around. Please encourage your students to wash their hands regularly and not to share food or drinks.
Please have your students bring an extra change of clothes in their backpacks for pre-athletics or emergencies.
Please make sure you are updating contact information on Parent Portal if anything changes.
